A few words about myself
Dr. Sheena Webb, BAHons MSc DClinPsy CPsychol
I am a Clinical Psychologist with 25 years experience of working within NHS services with children, adolescents and adults with complex needs. I have provided clinical expertise within the family justice system for over a decade and am a Visiting Lecturer at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust.
I specialise in helping people with the impact of adverse and traumatic experiences. In particular, I provide private therapy for people affected by complex and relational trauma during childhood. I work from an integrative perspective which is based on the evolving body of clinical and research evidence on trauma recovery. I use a combination of cognitive, narrative and parts-based techniques to help people not only process traumatic experiences, but understand how their feelings and behaviours in the here and now are rooted in earlier self-protective responses. I am very interested in the connection between mental, physical and relational experience in supporting day to day emotional wellbeing.
Due to the nature of complex trauma, therapy may last 6 months to 2 years. I work across the lifespan, but with children this is likely to involve work with caregivers. If you are interested in therapy, I will offer an initial 30 minute screening consultation to help us decide if I’m the right therapist for you.
I am registered as a provider with most major health insurance companies.
