A few words about myself

I am a family and systemic psychotherapist accredited by the UKCP and also an accredited BACP counsellor. I work with adults, parents, couples, young people and families offering a safe space to find a way forward when life has become difficult to manage alone.

What is family therapy?

Family therapy – or to give it its full title, family and systemic psychotherapy, helps people in a close relationship help each other.

It enables family members, couples and others who care about each other, to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives. Individuals can also find family therapy helpful, as an opportunity to reflect on important relationships and find solutions to life’s challenges.

Research shows family therapy is useful for children, young people and adults experiencing a very wide range of difficulties and experiences, for example, depression and anxiety; relationship breakdowns; parenting struggles; bereavements, etc.

I have worked in the NHS and charitable sectors with adults and children experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. I continue to work with parents, children and young people at a London based charity 3 days a week and have a small private practice.

I work within the ethical guidelines of the UKCP and BACP and have regular supervision.
